Family Weekly Update

Hello Owls!

The mission of Dr. Howard Elementary School is to provide a safe, integrated space where all students feel a sense of community and learn and achieve at high levels.

The vision of Dr. Howard Elementary School is to create a developmentally appropriate and rigorous academic environment. As a Responsive Classroom community, Dr. Howard students learn through engaging academics. We are a culturally responsive school that empowers students to take educational risks. Our students grow to be emotionally, socially, and academically equipped to continue their path for college and career readiness.

Here is our family weekly update for 4/27/2023!

May Day!

In recognition of May Day, which is observed every year on May 1st to celebrate the return of Spring we will make a May Day craft and take a walk in the neighborhood around Dr. Howard to spread and deliver the spring cheer.

All students will make their craft at Art and since the 1st of May is on Monday this year and it is an early out day, we will go on our May Day Walk to deliver our crafts on Tuesday, May 2nd, weather permitting. If the weather is bad, we will schedule our walk for a later day in the week when the weather is more favorable.

Please keep an eye out for a permission slip that will need to be signed for your student to attend.
